Texas College’s intercollegiate esports (or eGaming) team, the Raging Steers, is a powerhouse of talent and teamwork guided by three visionary captains and supported by twelve dedicated ambassadors. The captains bring strategic brilliance and leadership, steering the team through challenges with innovative strategies and an impressive depth of game knowledge. Meanwhile, the ambassadors, identified as the most skilled players and passionate advocates, elevate the team's performance with their exceptional gameplay and collaborative spirit. This constructive collaboration between the Raging Steers’ leaders and ambassadors creates a dynamic, cohesive unit that not only excels in competitions but also fosters a powerful sense of community and growth. The aforementioned is amplified by Head Coach Mingle Moore’s exciting leadership and guidance, which affords the Raging Steers an advanced level of knowledge and experience. Together, they are poised to push boundaries and achieve immense success in the world of eGaming.
The Texas College Raging Steers showcased their talent and determination during the Fall 2024 semester by competing in the Blaze Fire Games tournament. Facing formidable opponents such as Fisk University, Tougaloo College, Talladega College, LeMoyne-Owen College, and Stillman College, the Raging Steers emerged victorious after five weeks of intense competition. Their triumph in Madden NFL 25 was led by Freshman Ambassador Malachi Fields, whose exceptional performance carried the team through crucial matches. Notably, Mr. Fields played and won both the semifinals and finals on the same night, solidifying Texas College's place as champions.
To commemorate this achievement, the team will receive special medallions adorned with the Blaze Fire Games insignia, symbolizing their excellence. This victory would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of Dr. Jan Duncan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the steadfast support of the D.R. Glass Library’s Mrs. Linda Simmons-Henry and Mr. Craytonius Robinson, as well as the invaluable partnership with Blaze Fire Games’ Dr. Isaiah Reese and David Alimo. Together, their collective efforts and dedication made this momentous achievement possible.
